On a different issue, Senator Richard Blumenthal has voiced criticism against the US Postal Service concerning a newly implemented system intended to handle the influx of mail-in ballots for the upcoming midterm elections. According to Blumenthal, issues raised by a whistleblower related to the system have not been sufficiently addressed. The whistleblower has reportedly cautioned that technical glitches in the scanning process could lead to entire batches of ballots being wrongly rejected.
In response, the Postal Service stated that it is currently reviewing these concerns and assured that the federal ballot mail system was developed over several months, following court orders.
